Jodie Manale would be an asset to any real estate brokerage, but considering her expertise in community redevelopment and commitment to sustainable practices, she’s particularly a great fit as qualifying broker for Green Coast Realty.

“At this point in my career, I want to be a mentor, coach and use my broker skills to help not only our agents, but also my clients, who are looking to buy their first home, or make investments in the Greater New Orleans area.”

Manale boasts a longtime career in New Orleans real estate—she bought her first property at the age of 21—and she is also very familiar with the governmental side of redeveloping properties.

Living in Pensacola, Florida in the early 90’s, Manale started her real estate sales business, but then she later took a position as the Chief of the Community Redevelopment Agency for Escambia County.  She oversaw a six-member staff, which collaborated with neighborhood groups, government, and community partners in planning capital improvements—lighting, parks, sidewalks and public sewers—to help combat blight in affected neighborhoods.

Another job duty was taking charge of the county’s Brownfield Redevelopment program, which included properties that were underutilized due to real or perceived contamination. Manale and her staff provided financial and technical assistance in conducting environmental site assessments, and remediation activities, and promoted redevelopment.

“We were pretty successful with the program and added 18 properties back into commercial reuse, so we were able to bring back thriving businesses into those areas,” Manale says.

Coming home to New Orleans in 2007, she quickly became licensed in Louisiana  and resumed real estate sales and investment businesses.   She also continued her interest in sustainable real estate practices, chairing the Green Committee for the New Orleans Metropolitan Association of REALTORS. Under her leadership, the committee worked to include green or sustainable features of properties in the MLS database of real estate listings.

Manale joined Green Coast Realty in 2014 and GCE Services in 2015 as business development lead, working  to bring energy management consulting services to affordable multifamily housing developers and their projects in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. While a great experience, Manale says she’s excited to start the next stage of her career.

“I’ve been with Green Coast for a while, and it’s great to be working for a company that models my commitment to the environment and New Orleans community,” Manale says. “Transitioning into this new role feels like a natural progression, and I look forward to leading and growing the Green Coast Realty team.”
